Responsibilities
- Prepares product for shipment both manually and via electric powered industrial equipment with lifting devices.
- Prepares and packages customer product in a safe and efficient manner while following the instruction of the Line Lead and Quality Lead.
- Follows corporate and site-specific Good Manufacturing Practices and reports noncompliance when observed.
- Observes all company safety rules and assists in enforcement as appropriate.
- Performs operations and safety checks using a checklist before operating equipment.
- Safely operates all equipment in assigned areas.
- Utilizes pick sheets, customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or facility WMS acquisition devices to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
- Selects products according to predetermined sequences such as product code, expiration date (FIFO where required), and/or other requirements.
- Places orders on pallets or transports orders to packing, wrapping, or shipping stations by hand and/or powered industrial equipment.
- Marks products picked with proper identifying information and compiles tally sheets or tickets from customer specifications.
- Counts products and records amounts of materials or items to be shipped for shipper verification and conformance to company standards.
- Replenishes pick locations from stock by hand or via powered industrial equipment.
- Changes powered industrial truck batteries.
- Practices "clean as you go housekeeping" to maintain a neat and orderly work area.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of experience and education.
- Possess strong oral and written communications skills.
- Able to work in a varied, fast-paced environment.
- Able to lift and move 50+ lbs.
- Able to sit/walk/stand for long periods of time.
- Follow all standards of PPE in the distribution center, such as wearing steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, safety vests, or any other standards provided by site leadership.
