1st Shift Capper Operator / Packaging

What You’ll Be Doing

• Watch for misaligned caps, make adjustments
• Adjust headspace (for vacuum), Check both headspace and vacuum throughout day, complete documentation
• Set up dud detector and ensure operating correctly throughout day, complete documentation
• Adjust belt / line speeds
• Adjust steam output
• Ensure correct caps / jars for product are being run
• Adjust security (tightness) of cap
• Adjust sealing shoe pulley
• Adjust line from filler to capper
• Set up capper - adjust for size (caps/jars)
• Complete necessary paperwork including accurate log data and downtime information
• Adjust metal detector for product being run (size, sensitivity, phasing) and ensure operating correctly throughout day, complete documentation
• Troubleshoot capper when not working properly, make necessary adjustments, confer with maintenance as needed
• Set up plastic capper and troubleshoot
• Run rejects through x-ray – confirm not false/positive
• Other tasks as assigned

What You Bring To The Table

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic math and clear communication skills

The Work Environment

• Exposure to wet/humid conditions and extreme heat/cold
• Some high noise levels and moving mechanical parts
• Exposure to brine, bleach, and cleaning chemicals
• Must wear proper PPE such as bump cap, eye and ear protection, gloves, to ensure your safety as well as protecting the quality of our products
• Strong communication skills are essential, as the role involves regular interaction with team members across departments
