What You’ll Be Doing
- Watch for misaligned caps, make adjustments
- Adjust headspace (for vacuum), Check both headspace and vacuum throughout day, complete documentation
- Set up dud detector and ensure operating correctly throughout day, complete documentation
- Adjust belt / line speeds
- Adjust steam output
- Ensure correct caps / jars for product are being run
- Adjust security (tightness) of cap
- Adjust sealing shoe pulley
- Adjust line from filler to capper
- Set up capper - adjust for size (caps/jars)
- Complete necessary paperwork including accurate log data and downtime information
- Adjust metal detector for product being run (size, sensitivity, phasing) and ensure operating correctly throughout day, complete documentation
- Troubleshoot capper when not working properly, make necessary adjustments, confer with maintenance as needed
- Set up plastic capper and troubleshoot
- Run rejects through x-ray – confirm not false/positive
- Other tasks as assigned
What You Bring To The Table
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic math and clear communication skills
The Work Environment
- Exposure to wet/humid conditions and extreme heat/cold
- Some high noise levels and moving mechanical parts
- Exposure to brine, bleach, and cleaning chemicals
- Must wear proper PPE such as bump cap, eye and ear protection, gloves, to ensure your safety as well as protecting the quality of our products
- Strong communication skills are essential, as the role involves regular interaction with team members across departments
