1st Shift - Cable Harness Assembler

Responsibilities

• Assemble and install electrical components, wiring, and harnesses according to engineering drawings and specifications.
• Use manual and powered tools for delicate tasks like stripping, crimping, soldering, and connector assembly.
• Conduct tests such as electrical continuity and HI-POT testing on cable harness assemblies to ensure quality and compliance with requirements.
• Read and interpret engineering documentation, including drawings and wiring diagrams.
• Inspect, verify, and document each step of the assembly process of components and finished products.
• Communicate problems or concerns to improve manufacturing processes.
• Ensure all appropriate materials needed to complete a job, according to the Bill of Materials, are with the work order (e.g., wire, hardware, and miscellaneous components).
• Print out labels for each work order.
• Utilize Lean and Continuous Improvement techniques to drive quality and productivity.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Technical certification in electrical assembly or related field preferred.
• Two years of experience with wire harness assembly and ability to read wire harness installation drawings and wiring diagrams/work instructions.
• Experience with IPC/WHMA-A-620 and IPC J-STD-001 desired.
