General Duties
- Maintains all tools & machinery in clean working order
- Maintains clean & organized work area
- Affords assistance as needed with other areas of the Tool Design operations
- Confer with Design Engineers, Production Personnel & others to resolve issues
- Recognizes & corrects safety hazards; reports hazards requiring higher level fixes
- Participates in LEAN Manufacturing initiatives as required
Assembly
- Reviews work orders, drawings, specifications or instructions to determine materials, procedures, sequence of operations needed
- Marks & scribes dimensions & reference points on metal stock
- Verifies dimensions and assembly alignment are correct
- Operates mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders and shapers
- Verifies finished work conforms to specifications
- Fits & assembles finished parts, making minor modifications as needed to produce best fit of parts
- Disassembles combination forms to salvage tooling & places in proper customer bins
Polishing
- Reviews work orders, drawings, specifications or instructions to determine materials, procedures and equipment needed
- Sets up and operates hand drill to drill/tap holes in molds for venting
- Positions parts and removes surface defects with palm sander, sandpaper, file or steel wool
- Inspects finished molds for smoothness, contour, conformity and defects
- Verifies finished work piece conforms to specifications
- Fits parts together in preassembly to ensure dimensions are accurate
- Disassembles combination forms to salvage tooling & places in proper customer bins
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- High School Diploma
- 2-3 years’ experience in similar role
- Demonstrated ability to read, interpret and apply drawings, instructions, etc.

- Demonstrated knowledge/experience using precision measuring & marking devices – rulers, micrometers, calipers & scribes

Compensation and Hours
- HOURS: Monday - Friday, OT as necessary 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM

- Compensation range for this position is up to $21/hr. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors.
