Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Starts machine and observes operation to detect malfunctions.
• Stops machine and reports malfunction to supervisor.
• Makes major adjustments such as opening chutes, adjusting formers, adjusting wrapper temperatures, adjusting press weights and pressure settings.
• Inspects finished product to ensure packaging accuracy.
• Feds products to conveyors, hoppers, or other feeding devices, and unloads packaged products.
• Replenishes packaging supplies such as packaging film, boxes, cartons, tape, ink, or labels.
• Mounts packaging film on spindles for wrapper feeding devices.
• Demonstrate proficiency in all 9 packaging positions.
• Supports Company’s goals and values.
• Willingness to work non-standard and extended hours as needed.

Required Skills & Abilities

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Required Education & Experience

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• One to three months’ related experience and/or training.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Demands

• Sit and stand.
• Use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
• Reach with hands and arms.
• Lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, frequently up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment

• Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
