About the Role
The Oliver Elementary School is seeking a Grade 1 teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The ideal candidate possesses a belief that all students are capable of learning. Experience with co-teaching and inclusion practices, including collaborative planning, is recommended.
Responsibilities
- Knowledge of early childhood development and best instructional practices
- Teach core content classes in a self-contained classroom/homeroom: ELA (CKLA), Mathematics (Eureka), Science, and Social Studies
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in using instructional technology
- Cultural competency and commitment to serving a diverse student population
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and support staff
- Reflect on practice and implement feedback
- Attend IEP, 504, student support, and team meetings
- Participate in grade-level and content vertical planning meetings
- Participate in the Warrior S.T.R.O.N.G. schoolwide positive behavior support protocols
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred
- Valid Massachusetts DESE Early Childhood (PreK-2) teaching license
- SEI (Sheltered English Immersion) endorsement required
- Experience teaching in urban public school settings preferred
- U.S. citizenship, residency, or valid work authorization required
- Successful completion of all pre-employment requirements

- Proficient in English

Pay
$61,788 - $94,614
