About the role
This position plans and implements an instructional program and provides related educational services for students in grades K–5. The teacher manages student behavior, assesses and evaluates student achievement, and modifies instructional activities as required. The role also carries out a variety of student monitoring and control activities and performs related duties as assigned.

Work setting
This position serves as a general education, elementary classroom teacher (K–5). Classes taught may be in a single, team, or departmental setting, but the teacher might also work independently in a unique teaching specialty. Some positions are assigned to reading or technology labs.
Supervision
This position is under the general supervision of a principal and/or other designated administrator.
