Responsibilities

  • Works with students to help them achieve the reading skill level of the class as a whole.
  • Administers, scores, and records such achievement and diagnostic tests as the teacher recommends for individual students.
  • Assists in producing and organizing the learning environment, equipment and materials.
  • Guides independent study, enrichment work, and remedial work set up and assigned by teacher.
  • Affords individual or small group student support.
  • Supervises students during recess.
  • Supervises students at lunch time and maintains a harmonious atmosphere by encouraging peaceful resolution of conflicts.
  • Directs movement of groups to and from the cafeteria in a safe and organized manner.
  • Affords students lunch room clean-up assistance.
  • Supervise rest rooms and hallways.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Some reading/writing and language college classes preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to relate well to staff and students.
  • Willingness to learn developmentally appropriate educational practices.
  • Ability to walk long distances.
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to take written and oral instructions.

Qualifications

Reports To Joshua LaMay, Building Principal
Start Date 26/27 SY start August 13, 2026
Lunch / Recess - $18.00 per hour (1 hour/day)
Instructional Aide - $17.00 per hour (2.5 hours/day)
