1st and/or Weekend Shift Production Technician

1st Shift: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM
Weekend Shift: Friday–Sunday, 6:00 AM–6:30 PM

About the role

This position is responsible for safe, clean, and efficient execution of production tasks within the assigned area. The Production Technician will be fully trained and competent in all required duties.

Responsibilities

• Follow Work Instruction procedures, including lab testing for product conformance and integrity.
• Coordinate with the Shift Coach to meet production objectives.
• Ensure proper biosecurity procedures for production security.
• Maintain equipment and keep the work area clean at all times.
• Operate and maintain forklifts or other equipment for material handling.
• Sample product and perform qualified testing as required by Quality instructions.
• Perform sanitation on equipment as required.
• Follow GMP and other quality processes and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to work in a food manufacturing environment.
• Previous food industry experience is preferred.
• Adaptability and flexibility in a dynamic work environment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to understand role expectations.
• Ability to work independently.
• Recordkeeping and documentation skills.
• Basic understanding of laboratory testing equipment.
• Basic understanding of process documentation requirements.
• Ability to speak and write English at a basic level.

Skills

• Basic math calculations.
• Eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity for operating equipment.
• Normal range of hearing and vision (including color recognition).
• Mental adaptability and emotional stability in varying work conditions.
• Ability to interpret vague or implicit instructions.

Materials and Equipment Used

• Forklifts and other manufacturing equipment for receiving, moving, and managing materials (e.g., granular sugar in totes or bags).
• Office machinery: calculator, computer, printers, copiers.

Working Environment / Physical Demands

• Prolonged standing, bending, stooping, and climbing.
• Lifting up to 75+ pounds.
• Exposure to machines, chemicals, and solvents.
• Work environment may be hot, humid, dusty, or cold depending on the season.
• May be required to work inside or outside the building based on role needs.
