About the Role

The Assistant Manager is an hourly employee responsible for the operation and supervision of a theatre and its employees, acting as a representative of Regal in alignment with the company’s mission statement and policies.

Responsibilities

  • Uphold and administer all theatre policies.
  • Train, develop, coach, and supervise non-management employees.
  • Perform all staff positions as required.
  • Operate projection and audio-visual equipment, including film handling (threading, building-up, tearing down) and maintenance.
  • Maintain working knowledge of all systems within the facility, including booth and projection technology, TMS operation, and related skills.
  • Ensure alcohol certification and training are current where applicable.
  • Monitor risk management, including employee and patron safety, loss prevention, emergency situations, and accident reporting.
  • Ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Count, deposit, and reconcile all receipts (cash, credit cards, coupons, gift cards, checks, etc.).
  • Comply with dress code and complete the management certification program.
  • Interview, hire, schedule, coach, counsel, and, with oversight, discipline or terminate employees in accordance with company policies.
  • Administer Human Resources paperwork and uphold company policies.
  • Control costs, including direct operating expenses, purchasing and ordering concession/café stock, and managing inventory and audits.
  • Supervise theatre maintenance, including minor repairs and coordinating qualified personnel for larger concerns.
  • Manage marketing and promotions for feature films, schedule showtimes, and ensure timely delivery of showtimes to proper channels.
  • Read and understand training materials on topics such as sexual harassment and discrimination.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the General Manager or senior management.

Requirements

  • At least three months of supervisory experience, or six months of theatre experience with completion of the Cast Certification Program, or a combination thereof, or demonstrated leadership potential subject to VP approval.
  • If duties include selling/serving alcohol, must be of legal age and complete any legally required state/local training, including Regal’s Responsible Beverage Server training.
  • Good public speaking skills and effective communication in oral and written form.
  • Ability to perform calculations accurately and identify/correct errors.
  • Strong reasoning skills: identify problems, gather data, evaluate information, and recommend solutions with minimal supervision.
  • Proven experience with PC platforms and basic office programs (email, word processing, spreadsheets).
  • Ability to operate office equipment, manage filing systems, and maintain attention to detail.
  • Dexterity in using tools and performing mechanical tasks.
  • Ability to interface effectively with customers, the public, and coworkers, demonstrating sensitivity to others’ feelings.
  • Ability to establish goals, budget time, and set priorities.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises employees, including training, planning, assigning work, appraising performance, resolving problems, and disciplining employees under the direction of the General Manager or senior management. May participate in interviewing and hiring as directed.

Physical Demands

  • Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
  • Occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Regularly required to lift up to 60 lbs.
  • Vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Pay

$19 per hour.
