About the role

Piper Companies is seeking a Machine Vision Engineer to join an innovative organization within the agricultural technology and automation industry for an onsite permanent position based out of Raleigh, NC. The Machine Vision Engineer will support and enhance advanced imaging and automation platforms used in high-volume production environments, helping bridge the gap between research initiatives and commercial operations across a global customer base.

Responsibilities

• Support, troubleshoot, and optimize computer vision applications deployed on automated production equipment.
• Collaborate with engineering, R&D, and field service teams to identify and resolve vision system performance issues.
• Improve machine learning models and software functionality to increase system accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
• Analyze operational data and system outputs to recommend enhancements and support product innovation efforts.
• Assist with customer deployments, technical support activities, and validation of new vision-based capabilities in production settings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Experience implementing computer vision, machine learning, or image processing solutions in real-world production environments.
• Understanding of automated equipment, industrial systems, robotics, or manufacturing technologies.
• Experience supporting vision inspection systems within industries such as pharmaceutical manufacturing, OEM equipment, industrial automation, or related environments.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and cross-functional communication skills with the ability to support both commercial and technical stakeholders.

Pay

Salary Range: $90,000-$140,000/year (USD)
