About the role

We are seeking a seasoned Designer to lead the development of a world-class, agent-first design system. This role will focus on improving how design and engineering work together, starting with core product surfaces.

Responsibilities

• Improve the design and engineering workflow to ensure seamless integration and faster delivery.
• Set the quality bar for components and patterns, ensuring they are reusable, maintainable, and scalable.
• Create the semantic layer that guides designers and engineers in making the right choices consistently.
• Educate the design organization on the new system, establishing clear guidelines and workflows for adoption.
• Build and evolve the components needed for the product, prioritizing high-leverage gaps and testing them in real-world scenarios.
• Establish agent-first systems and workflows that guide both humans and AI agents in using the design system correctly.
• Develop documentation and quality check workflows that ensure the system remains consistent and accessible.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in product design, with a strong background in design systems.
• Experience contributing to components, patterns, tokens, governance, and adoption.
• A systems thinker who can see the big picture and influence the direction of the design system.
• Taste and communication skills to defend design decisions and communicate effectively across teams.
• Autonomy and end-to-end ownership to drive the design system from concept to implementation.
• Fluency with AI in design, able to build repeatable workflows and explain the impact of AI on the design system.
• An understanding of accessibility and scalability, considering how the system will grow across different platforms.

Qualifications

• Comfort with building or changing components in code (Swift/SwiftUI, Kotlin/Jetpack Compose, or web).
• Experience in language learning, education, or another domain where cross-cultural nuances shape the product.
