About the role

Exemplifies and ensures strong customer service in all aspects of the job. Directs and controls the operation of the Frozen Department to achieve sales and profit objectives.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, courteous, and helpful service as a primary contact for customers.
• Train, supervise, schedule, and assign duties to Frozen Food Clerks.
• Change signs and prices as directed by merchandising.
• Maintain appropriate stock and inventory in the frozen food area; minimize out‑of‑stock product.
• Write frozen food orders in the order guide book and check orders for completeness upon arrival.
• Rotate product and remove expired stock daily.
• Keep frozen food cases stocked, clean the department area, and restock items in freezer for other departments.
• Load boards received from trucks onto pallets; move pallets to the sales floor with a pallet jack and load product into cases.
• Break down cardboard boxes and place them in the bailer.
• Check and fill the ice machine daily as needed.
• Restock end displays per instructions.
• Clean any spills from leakage in cases or on the department floor.
• In the event of a freezer malfunction or power outage, remove all items, clean out the case, and replace or restock product.
• Function as cashier/checker during peak times.
• Provide customer service as defined by employer within scope and company policy.
• Speak with customers to resolve problems involving sales, satisfaction with service, or product and other operational issues.
• Perform daily inventory and order necessary supplies to maintain adequate inventory.
• Replace stock in coolers, freezers, and end displays; ensure expired items are removed daily.
• Unload boards and stack on pallets or six‑wheel carts; push pallet jacks or six‑wheeled carts through store to display areas.
• Maintain cleanliness of display areas and freezers.
