13M Multiple Launch Rocket System Crewmember
About the role
As a Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) Crewmember, you play a vital role in maintaining "the rocket's red glare." The MLRS is a highly specialized system, using different pieces of equipment, and is operated by a team of professionals. Depending on your role, you will establish, maintain, and operate MLRS equipment to support infantry and tank units by supplementing cannon artillery during combat.
Instead of paying to learn these skills, you get paid to train. In the Army National Guard, you will learn valuable job skills while earning a regular paycheck and qualifying for tuition assistance. Job training begins with 10 weeks of Basic Training, where you'll learn basic Soldiering skills, followed by four weeks of Advanced Individual Training to learn the specifics of the MLRS specialty, split between classroom and field environment.
