About the role
The customer service representative (CSR) supports integrated behavioral health, medical, and dental clinics at the Federally Qualified Health Center of South-Central Texas. They collaborate with clerical support staff and assist with various administrative tasks, including receptionist duties, data entry, running reports, copying materials, typing, mailing, maintaining office equipment and vehicles, assembling staffing packets, ordering supplies, filing clinical records, and processing purchase requisitions.Responsibilities
- Schedule appointments and provide quality customer service to both individuals and appropriate staff members.
- Perform initial and annual financial reviews/addendums, update demographic information in the electronic chart, and scan documents into the electronic chart.
- Absorb necessary documentation, verify insurance for scheduled clinic appointments, determine and note individual responsibilities based on insurance and financial ability to pay.
- Contact insurance providers for required services and respond to concerns about account balances.
- Follow up on past due balances and develop payment agreements according to center policy.
- Coordinate with Benefits Specialists and work with a team of business support staff to maintain an efficient work environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience working with persons with disabilities.
- Strong computer and communication skills.
- Experience in a medical office setting.
- Demonstrated regular and timely attendance.
- Valid Texas driver’s license and approved driver’s status.
Qualifications
- Some college (1-2 years) or associate’s degree preferred.
- Experience with financial discussions with clients regarding treatment costs preferred.
- Bilingual preferred.
