About the Role
The 10th Grade Biology Teacher will join our High School team for the 2026-2027 school year. In addition to teaching Biology, this role includes teaching one elective class and serving as the Advisory/Ethics Teacher for a cohort of 10th grade students, with a focus on Personal Ethics.
Responsibilities
- Teach Biology to 10th grade students in alignment with the Minnesota Academic Standards in Biology.
- Teach one elective class.
- Serve as the Advisory/Ethics Teacher for a 10th grade cohort, focusing on Personal Ethics.
- Build positive relationships with students to foster community and character development.
- Implement Developmental Designs (DD) practices across grades 7-12.
Requirements
- Hold a Minnesota Teaching license in Biology.
- Strong understanding of the Minnesota Academic Standards in Biology.
- Ability to develop rapport with learners of diverse backgrounds.
- Unyielding commitment to helping all students attain high academic and ethical standards of performance.
Professional Development & Support
- Internal coaching and support for implementing Developmental Designs practices.
- Weekly Professional Learning Communities (PLCs).
- Structured common planning time.
- Frequent observation and coaching.
- All new teachers are assigned a Mentor.
