This role supports the Human Lander System (HLS) Program Office at NASA/Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) in a full-time onsite capacity.
About the role
We are seeking a mid-career Configuration and Data Management professional with demonstrated skills in managing configuration and program data, supporting configuration management processes, and handling data deliverables from prime contractors. The position involves utilizing existing information systems/tools in a hardware development environment, with a focus on change management processes. Relevant experience using data management tools such as Windchill, Jira, and MS SharePoint is required.
Responsibilities
- Provide CM/DM leadership, expertise, and guidance to the Human Landing Systems program.
- Support CM/DM per MSFC best practices identified in MGM 7120.3 and MGM 8040.1 or industry standards.
- Develop and maintain Charters for Control Boards and provide secretariat support for agendas, meeting minutes, directive actions, logs, and records.
- Provide Change Package Manager (CPM) support to HLS data items.
- Develop and maintain CM/DM-related Work Instructions.
- Support NQA and other audits, including the development of Audit Plans.
- Provide Data Quality Assurance (DQA).
- Utilize and provide expert guidance on Government-provided WIKI and/or data storage systems.
- Maintain appropriate data availability and security markings.
- Collect, retain, maintain, and prepare data records for distribution to internal and external customers.
- Perform integration and analysis of data, products, and system tools.
- Support programmatic reviews, technical meetings, and associated briefings; track and report on activities and products.
- Provide records management and archival per MPR 1440.2.
- Develop recommendations for improvements to data management processes, including data organization, identification, control, and maintenance procedures.
- Develop recommendations for improvements to configuration management processes, systems, and activities, including change management.
- Scan, organize, catalog, label, index, and quality-check Project files from hard copy to electronic media.
- Establish and maintain a cross-reference list of program documentation versions corresponding to provider contract revisions.
- Ensure the SharePoint documentation site is updated to reflect the latest revisions of incorporated documentation.
- Maintain a listing of requirement traceability between program documentation.
- Review and ensure all affected documents are flagged and updated during CR review.
- Assist with tracking action items for various boards and reviews.
- Handle Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), ITAR, and other export-controlled or proprietary data following NASA and MSFC requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 10 years of applicable experience (a Master’s degree may substitute for 3 years of experience).
- Alternate education substitutions:
- Associate’s Degree and 2 additional years of experience.
- High School Diploma and 4 additional years of experience.
- Knowledge of IT/automated data management tools such as Windchill, Jira, and SharePoint is required.
- Understanding of CDM functions, including change management, action tracking, and development of agendas and minutes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, and Access or similar database) is highly desired.
- Experience in process-based tasks in a dynamic environment is desired.
- Experience handling sensitive data is desired.
- Professional CDM certification (e.g., NDIA CDM certification or equivalent) is desired.
- Ability to obtain clearance/access onsite at NASA MSFC (requires a STAR ID for badging).
- U.S. Citizenship required.
