100% Remote - VDC Specialist
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled VDC Specialist with strong Revit expertise to support mechanical (HVAC) and plumbing modeling efforts on complex construction projects. This role is ideal for a BIM professional with 6+ years of hands-on experience who can independently develop detailed models, perform coordination, and contribute to fabrication-ready deliverables.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed Revit models for HVAC and/or plumbing systems
- Produce shop drawings, spool drawings, and layout plans for fabrication and installation
- Perform clash detection and coordination
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and VDC leadership to resolve design conflicts
- Ensure models meet project specifications, constructability standards, and client requirements
- Integrate data from submittals, RFIs, and engineering documentation into BIM models
- Support fabrication-level modeling workflows (LOD 300-400+)
- Participate in BIM coordination meetings and coordination workflows
- Conduct quality control (QA/QC) of models and deliverables
- Maintain organized project files and adhere to internal modeling standards
Qualifications
- 6+ years of Revit experience
- Direct experience with HVAC and/or plumbing modeling
- Proficiency in: Autodesk Revit, Navisworks (clash detection), BIM coordination workflows
- Strong understanding of mechanical/plumbing systems and construction practices
- Experience creating fabrication drawings and shop drawings
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality
Preferred
- Experience with Trimble SysQue or fabrication software
- Familiarity with BIM 360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud
- Exposure to fabrication modeling and prefabrication workflows
- Prior experience coordinating across multiple trades (MEP)
