Position Summary

Facilitates standards alignment. Designs, develops, and facilitates professional development aligned with the District Strategic Plan, District Learning Initiatives, and current Career and Technical Education standards and requirements. Develops, compiles, and delivers resources to support implementation of standards. Provides CTE teachers with support as needed in the areas of assessments, industry certifications, state reporting of CTE data, CTE student organizations, marketing of CTE programs, and other CTE initiatives.

Training and Experience

  • Master's degree
  • Five years of experience teaching in a Business and Applied Program Programs CTE area at Secondary level
  • Instructional leadership (PLC Lead, Department Chair, Academic Coach, TOA)

Licensing/Certification Requirements

  • Valid Arizona CTE Teaching Certificate with appropriate Subject Areas
  • Valid IVP AZ DPS Fingerprint Clearance Card

Knowledge

  • State standards
  • Professional learning communities
  • Formative assessment
  • Knowledge or experience in facilitating adult learners
  • Knowledge of CTE regulations and functions

Skills

  • Articulates curriculum standards
  • Comprehend literacy and can articulate strategies teachers can use to increase students' literacy skills
  • Affords data-driven decision-making and how it relates to program development, implementation, and assessment

ADA and Other Requirements

  • Positions in this class typically require climbing, crawling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, standing, walking, pushing, reaching, lifting, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.
  • Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
