About the role

Fujitsu Research is seeking a mid-level hardware engineer to join our high-performance processor development team. As chiplet-based architectures increase development complexity, we are expanding our team to tackle cutting-edge processor design challenges. This role focuses on low-power planning, evaluation, and verification for processors at the scale of billions of transistors.

Fujitsu Research develops leading-edge processors for servers, supercomputers like "Fugaku," and flagship HPC products such as FUJITSU-MONAKA. You will contribute to technologies that underpin the future digital society.

Responsibilities

• Develop low-power strategies and plans for high-performance processors
• Conduct processor power evaluation and verification
• Create power prediction models and validate power consumption
• Define specifications for power-related peripheral circuits, such as power monitors
• Collaborate on the development of processors used in Fujitsu’s flagship HPC products

As you grow in this role, you will be expected to take on leadership responsibilities and guide the team as a future leader.

Requirements

Mandatory experience and skills:

• Experience in logic circuit design with relevant knowledge and skills
• Experience in semiconductor circuit design with relevant knowledge and skills
• Experience in processor performance/power evaluation and verification with relevant knowledge and skills

Preferred experience and skills:

• Team leadership experience
• Knowledge of processor microarchitecture
• Knowledge of server systems, middleware, or operating systems
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Perl or Python

Language skills:

• Japanese: Daily conversation level or higher (preferred)

Pay

• Monthly salary: ¥385,000–
• Annual salary: ¥7,800,000– (higher compensation available based on responsibilities)

Schedule

• Average overtime: 30 hours/month
• Peak overtime: 60 hours/month
