1:1 Youth Support Leader (After School Inclusion)

At Kama‘āina Kids, we believe every child deserves to feel confident, included, and supported—and that starts with you. As a 1:1 Inclusion Support Leader, you’ll partner closely with one student who benefits from extra support. You won’t just be supervising—you’ll be guiding, encouraging, and helping them fully participate in the fun, friendships, and growth that happen every afternoon. If you’re patient, compassionate, and love seeing small moments turn into big breakthroughs, this role is incredibly rewarding. You’ll make a real impact by supporting one child in building confidence, social skills, and independence—every win matters, and you’ll see it firsthand. This position provides great experience for future careers in education, special education, psychology, or behavioral health (RBT, ABA, etc.). It is part‑time, located at Princess Nahienaena Elementary in Lahaina, with weekday afternoons only.
Responsibilities
- Provide Dedicated 1:1 Support – Work closely with one student during activities like games, crafts, homework time, and outdoor play.
- Encourage Inclusion & Connection – Help your student engage with peers, build friendships, and feel confident participating in group activities.
- Offer Positive, Individualized Guidance – Support behavior, transitions, and learning in a way that meets your student’s unique needs.
- Collaborate with Your Team – Partner with Group Leaders and staff to create a safe, inclusive, and positive environment for all keiki.
Requirements
- Compassionate & Patient: You genuinely care about helping children with diverse needs succeed
- Dependable & Positive: You show up ready, consistent, and supportive
- Strong Communicator: Able to collaborate with staff and communicate effectively
- 18+ with High School Diploma or GED
- No prior experience required—we provide training
- Great experience for future careers in education, special education, psychology, or behavioral health (RBT, ABA, etc.)

$18–$21/hour
Schedule
Weekday afternoons only (~1:30–5:30 PM). No nights. No weekends.
