1:1 School Nurse- 2026-2027 at Twain Elementary
Job Summary
The primary purpose of the one-on-one school nurse is to provide constant, individualized nursing care and ongoing health assessments for a designated medically fragile student throughout the school day. This role includes conducting and documenting regular nursing assessments, monitoring the student's health status, and identifying changes or concerns that require intervention. The nurse implements physician-ordered care plans, administers treatments and medications as needed, and responds promptly to medical needs while ensuring student safety.
Collaboration with building school nurses, school staff and healthcare providers is essential to support the student's access to education and overall physical and emotional well-being.
Licenses/Special Requirements
See attached job description for more detail. Valid Washington State Registered Nursing License. First aid- and CPR certification preferred. Valid Washington State driver's license. Hepatitis B immunization
Preferred Qualifications
- Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in nursing or an associate degree in nursing or a nursing diploma earned in an accredited hospital program and job-related experience.
- Five years of nursing experience desired.
