About the Role
The primary role of the 1:1 Aide is to support scholars who need additional support in and outside of the classroom according to their IEP. This could include wheelchair assistance, toileting, lunch/snacks, small group instruction, push-in classroom support, and curriculum modification. The ideal candidate should have experience working with students with disabilities and additional physical support needs.
Responsibilities
- Assist scholars who need additional support in and outside of the classroom, including wheelchair assistance, toileting, lunch/snacks, etc.
- Collaborate with scholars' general education and RSP teacher.
- Facilitate reading intervention, small group instruction, and pull-out groups.
- Conduct academic assessments.
- Provide instruction in various drills and activities using learning strategies designed to introduce, reinforce, or modify skills.
- Actively participate in professional development aimed at refining both school culture and academics.
- Assist teachers during the school day with instruction, oversight, and supervision of students.
- Follow policies and procedures for health, safety, and nutrition.
- Maintain high behavioral expectations for scholar behavior at all times and enforce Equitas Academy’s positive discipline policies.
- Maintain open lines of communication with staff, parents, and other stakeholders.
- Provide adaptive supports with eating and toileting.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- AA degree or equivalent required; BA degree preferred.
- Knowledge and experience in ABA.
- Criminal clearance, including fingerprints and TB test.
- Previous experience working with and supervising children.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
- Current CPR and 1st Aid Certificate within 3 months of employment.
Pay
Starting at $23/hour.

This is a full-time, hourly position with benefits.
