About the Role

Receives, rotates, cuts, wraps, and merchandises fresh and processed meats, including grinds. Assists in merchandising of seafood, prepared foods, cheeses, pre-packed deli, and the rotisserie chicken area. Helps with meat selection and custom cuts for Members. Maintains all sanitation and safety standards within the meat department.

Responsibilities

• Engage and assist Members by making recommendations and answering questions about meat, poultry, and seafood.
• Prepare special cuts of meat ordered by Members.
• Cut, grind, and process fresh meats to company standards; weigh, package, wrap, and label products.
• Ensure the meat case showcases all available products and maintains appropriate inventory levels.
• Stock and rotate meats, poultry, seafood, prepared foods, and cheeses according to expiration dates.
• Follow guidelines for disposing of damaged or expired products.
• Clean and sanitize equipment, display fixtures, and areas in the meat department, including coolers and freezers.
• Inspect and store meat upon delivery to ensure quality standards are met.
• Receive and unpack meat, poultry, seafood, prepared foods, and cheeses in coolers and freezers.
• Maintain all club policies and procedures; perform other duties as assigned, including working in other departments.
• Deliver service excellence, resolve member concerns, and ensure a safe environment for Members and team members.
• Work as a team to achieve goals, maintain a positive attitude, and uphold GOLD Member and Club Standards.

Requirements

• Completion of a training program or apprenticeship required.
• Previous meat cutting experience required.
• Knowledge of automatic or hand wrapping machines preferred.
• At least 18 years of age.

Working Conditions

• Most of the time is spent moving about on hard surfaces; occasional bending, handling, pulling, reaching, or stooping to examine or scan merchandise.
• Frequently lift objects up to 30 pounds; may require lifting and moving heavy or awkward objects over 30 pounds with assistance.
• Work in a cooler area with frequent exposure to temperature extremes and loud noises; occasional exposure to cleaning agents.

Pay

The pay range for this position starts from $19.75 to $24.75 per hour. Actual salaries vary based on factors including location, education, experience, and qualifications.
