REPORTS TO: Site Administrator

Essential Job Functions

• Identifies the needs of individual students through continuous assessment and uses these needs to plan instruction.
• Writes instructional plans and implements them using appropriate methods and materials.
• Maintains the classroom environment to optimize learning conditions.
• Applies learning theories to meet the needs of students and evaluates their progress.
• Conducts parent conferences and participates in professional development activities.
• Supervises educational assistants, manages students, communicates with colleagues, and assesses building-level needs.
• Attends meetings and serves on committees as directed, fulfilling all assigned responsibilities and related duties.

Working Conditions

• Primarily indoors in a classroom setting, occasionally outdoors for supervision, school activities, or field trips.
• Requires prolonged standing, walking, bending, reaching, and frequent movement throughout the instructional space.
• May involve lifting, carrying, or moving instructional materials or equipment.
• Exposed to moderate noise levels and a range of student behaviors.
• May require participation in meetings, school events, conferences, professional responsibilities, and activities outside the regular instructional day.

Education and Experience

• Completion of course work meeting the requirement for issuance of a valid Oregon Teaching License with appropriate endorsement in the designated assignment.
• Demonstrated ability to teach students successfully through student teaching, internship, or temporary/regular teaching experience.
