09 - Senior Lead Engineer, Manufacturing Equipment
About the role
The Senior Lead Engineer, Manufacturing Equipment is responsible for the development and/or sourcing of manufacturing equipment to support manufacturing operations goals. Scope of job may include design and development of equipment, qualification, deployment to manufacturing, improving performance and supporting programs to optimize efficiencies while maintaining a safe working environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development, procurement and implementation of off the shelf standard solutions and/or develop new standard automation solutions to support customer product manufacturing equipment needs. Support business case analysis, trade-off analysis and decision criteria for multiple solution options to minimize impact to cost, quality and schedule delivery of equipment.
- Plan and lead the hardware and software improvements of automated lines and off the shelf equipment, via the analysis of Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE) and other available data.
- Own the communications with multiple stakeholders including solution providers for design, technical information and specifications.
- Lead the collaboration and the communication with multiple internal and external stakeholders including solution providers for design approval.
- Point of escalation for complex technical problems.
- Be accountable for the development, procurement, installation, qualification, maintenance and operational performance of complex equipment within a value stream or overall responsibility for common equipment sets across the entire factory.
- Support capital planning processes with the leadership team, develop forecasts for equipment capacity and recommend CapEx plans to meet site targets.
Requirements
Typical Experience: 4 to 6 years in a similar role or industry.
Typical Education: Bachelor degree or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Demands
Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment. Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data. Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required. Occasional travel may be required.
