About the role

Perform a combination of equipment operations, preventive maintenance, and manual labor tasks related to roadway maintenance, including emergency roadway operations as an essential employee.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain light, medium, and heavy-duty highway equipment and vehicles for maintenance and construction tasks.
• Prepare and operate equipment for snow and ice removal and other emergency operations; clear roadways of snow, ice, and debris; clean up after accidents; provide traffic control.
• Determine and demonstrate proper work site protection techniques; identify safety hazards and suggest improvements; wear required personal protective equipment.
• Develop and maintain knowledge of safety rules, regulations, laws, and procedures (OSHA, VOSHA, etc.); use equipment safely; apply MUTCD for detours, lane
