Remote position based in Richardson, Texas.
About the role
Incumbents determine best methods and procedures to complete complex assignments requiring considerable judgment and initiative. Decisions may impact departmental goals and extend beyond the department. Works under minimal supervision, referring situations not covered by standard processes to a manager or expert. May provide functional guidance to others and is considered an expert in assigned areas. Builds internal and external relationships, exchanging information and providing explanations in a problem-solving capacity.
Responsibilities
- Assists Associate Planners in releasing shop orders, checking for parts, tracking builds, ensuring timely shipment, and resolving manufacturing issues.
- Maintains data integrity by closing shop orders and ensuring customer commitments are met.
- Performs materials requirements planning for lower-value components.
- Ensures planning parameters are set correctly and MRP orders required parts.
- Manages smaller planning projects (e.g., Field Replacement Units), including customer interface, card sorting/testing, and shipment coordination.
- Plans for test capacity, sort capacity, and on-time delivery.
- Creates, updates, and maintains customer order sets, reports, and spreadsheets; distributes reports to customers.
- Generates part shorts reports for planners and initiates cycle counts to reset inventory records.
- Coordinates and schedules production lines according to customer requirements, tracks efficiency, and interfaces with Manufacturing.
Requirements
- Basic knowledge of production planning fundamentals, scheduling, materials requirements planning techniques, and manufacturing control systems.
- Knowledge of purchasing practices and procedures.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and ability to learn department-specific software.
- Basic math, data entry, and 10-key skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy under tight deadlines.
- Strong evaluation, prioritization, and problem-solving skills for timely task completion.
- Effective verbal and written communication with internal and external customers.
- Efficient organization, filing, and retrieval of hard copy and electronic business information.
Qualifications
- Four to six years of relevant experience.
- Additional courses after high school or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Educational requirements may vary by geography.
Physical Demands
- Normal office environment.
- Extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or detailed data.
- Frequent repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, calculator).
