What You Will Do
The Military Aftermarket & Sustainment Engineering (ASE) Project team is looking for a highly motivated individual for the position of Project Engineer. In this role, you will work closely with the Programs and broader F135 Project, and multi-disciplinary teams focused on sustainment of Pratt & Whitney F135 engines to identify required repairs, evaluate their cost effectiveness, complete repair task work scopes, manage schedules and mitigate risks during the repair development process.
The successful candidate will be a talented, goal-oriented and focused team leader. This role will require someone who is good at communicating, mentoring, and coordinating multiple tasks. The selected individual will work closely with the Project Discipline Managers to develop and implement best practices across the team while providing overall leadership and ensuring repair deliveries are completed on schedule to support our customer commitments.
- Lead business case management of F135 project team
- Mentoring and guiding less experienced team members on tool usage, best practices and business case execution
- Advancement of the project discipline and continuous improvement of Project Engineering tools and processes, including EKS development and revision, specifically pertaining to business case execution
- Create technical task work scopes and proposals for new task recommendations using Repair Assessment Work Sheet (RAW) and Cost Effectivity Analysis (CEA), as required
- Identify and manage L3 task schedules and execute repair activity to committed timelines while engaging outside departments (CSE, HSE, EDSI, etc.) to ensure alignment between ASE’s repair tasks/proposals and external-departmental tasks
- Work with Repair Design Engineers, and all disciplines (Structures, MPE, CAIPT/CIPT etc.), to address any issues that may delay task progression
- Identify technical, financial and schedule risks and develop mitigation strategies, communicate to stakeholders and track to closure
- Lead weekly module level reviews that identify current status, next steps, risks to schedule and mitigation plans
- Prepare and present at Senior Management repair status meetings to update progress against plan and commitments
Qualifications You Must Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
- A minimum of 8 years of engineering experience or 5 years of engineering experience with an advanced degree
- 10% Travel
Qualifications We Prefer
- Demonstrated effectiveness in working across internal functions, organizations and management and with external customers
- Success in managing schedules with the ability to drive projects to successful completion
- Proven strong leadership capability
- Experience as a Repair Development Engineer or in another role related to military engine sustainment
