Responsibilities

  • Contact and interview individuals who are victims of a crime and have a case pending.
  • Provides information about the court process, punishment options, resources and referrals.
  • Provides crisis counseling and court accompaniment.
  • Conducts risk assessments and safety planning.
  • Works with outside agencies to obtain information and coordinate services.
  • Affords assistance with crime victim’s compensation claims.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • No experience required.

Special Requirements/Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, and establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, departments, and the general public, while maintaining confidentiality.

Physical/Environmental Requirements

  • Standard office environment.
  • May require prolonged sitting, kneeling, standing, walking, twisting, climbing and the ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs., unassisted.
